The 2008 Kennedy Half Dollar was a recent release but may be an interesting year to watch in the long term. The 2008-P and 2008-D Kennedy Halves had only 1.7 million produced. This is the lowest mintage for a circulation strike coin since the series began. The 2008-S Proof Kennedy Half Dollars seemed destined to have low mintages as well, since the proof sets which contained them had relatively low production runs.
