1987 Kennedy Half Dollar

The circulation strike 1987 Kennedy Half Dollar was only produced in quantities sufficient to fulfill the needs for the annual US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set. The result was a low mintage for the 1987-P and 1987-D Kennedy Half Dollar. The mintage for each coin is the lowest since the 1970-D Kennedy Half Dollar. As usual, the 1987 Proof Kennedy Half Dollar was produced at the San Francisco Mint and included in the annual proof set.
